چکیده

Abstract Background Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has a harmful effect on the stability and osseointegration of dental implants. T2DM induces mitochondrial damage by inhibiting AMPK signaling, resulting in oxidative stress poor osteogenesis peri-implant bone area. Genipin is major component gardenia fruits with strong antioxidant, anti-inflammation, antidiabetic actions, it also can activate quality control via pathway. The purpose this study was to investigate effects genipin insulin treatment implant rats explore underlying mechanisms. Methods Streptozotocin-induced diabetic received surgery their femurs were then assigned five groups that subjected different treatments for three months: group, insulin-treated group (10 IU/kg), genipin-treated (50 mg/kg), combination-treated group. Then, we regularly assessed weight glucose levels animals. Rats euthanized at 3 months after implantation procedure, femora harvested microscopic computerized tomography analysis, biomechanical tests, histomorphometric assessment. Results results indicated highest blood measured poorest osseointegration. mitigated hyperglycemia normalized, reactivated alleviated as well reversed negative There beneficial changes observed T2DM-genipin T2DM-insulin groups, but these less comparison combination Conclusion Our suggests could be an effective method promoting rats, which may related signaling.

Swimming training alleviated insulin resistance through Wnt3a/β-catenin signaling in type 2 diabetic rats

Objective(s): Increasing evidence suggests that regular physical exercise improves type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the potential beneficial effects of swimming on insulin resistance and lipid disorder in T2DM, and its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Materials and Methods: Rats were fed with high fat diet and given a low dosage of Streptozotocin (STZ) to induce T2DM model, and su...

Levo-Carnitine Reduces Oxidative Stress and Improves Contractile Functions of Fast Muscles in Type 2 Diabetic Rats

Background: Metabolic derangements in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are likely to affect skeletal muscle contractile functions adversely. Levo-carnitine improves muscle contractile functions in healthy humans and rats and corrects metabolic derangements in T2DM. Therefore, it is likely to improve muscle contractile functions in T2DM as well. This study was designed to determine the effect of ...

The effect of resistance training on protein-D surfactant and insulin resistance index in healthy and type 2 diabetic rats

Introduction Protein-D Surfactant (SPD) is a new factor associated with glucose intolerance, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of resistance training on surfactant protein-D in streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced diabetic rats. Materials and Methods In this experimental study، 48 adult male Wistar rats in the weight range of 2...

Effect of continuous aerobic training versus high intensity interval training on Resistin and insulin resistance in type 2 diabetic rats

Background: the adipose tissue produces and releases peptides that contribute to various processes in body, including insulin resistance. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of eight weeks of continuous aerobic training and high intensity interval training on Resistin and insulin levels and insulin resistance in type 2 diabetic male wistar rats. Methods: Twenty-four Wistar rats...

Basal insulin gene expression significantly improves conventional insulin therapy in type 1 diabetic rats.

Although a conventional insulin regimen for type 1 diabetes with twice-daily insulin injections is effective in preventing postprandial blood glucose excursions, this treatment is limited by its inadequate control of fasting hyperglycemia. Alternatively, sustained basal hepatic insulin gene expression has been shown to result in fasting normoglycemia in type 1 diabetic rats, although the treate...
